NSF-ATE Sponsored Facilitator Development Workshop Offered At No Cost To Qualified Participants
Beautiful la Casa De Maria Retreat Center in Santa Barbara, California, will be the site of the NSF-ATE sponsored Teaching Skills Workshop, held from June 12-June 16, 2006.
This weeklong retreat, based on Microteaching, a model for learning about teaching that involves teaching in small groups and receiving feedback, is offered at no cost to qualified community college instructors. Participants will receive the workshop materials, onsite lodging, and meals (a $2,500 value) as well as $100.00 a day stipend as partial reimbursement for the cost of travel or salary loss. Successful applicants will be required to train four full-time or part-time faculty back at their home institution.
Enrollment is very limited, so interested applicants should contact Jaime Milteer, CREATE Program Specialist, at College of the Canyons at (661) 362-5364 as soon as possible.
